CeraVe Cleanser Psoriasis

It is a skin condition in which patients have patches of abnormal skin that are itchy, flaky in appearance, and often covered with silver scales. It is a long-term autoimmune chronic disease. In this disease, skin cells grow rapidly and accumulate on the surface of the skin. In psoriasis,  the cells grow too rapidly but old cells do not die or flake off.

Cause

The cause of psoriasis can be genetic or environmental. You can either inherit it directly from your parents or due to external factors like stress, infection, alcohol or may be due to cardiovascular disease or diabetes.

Symptoms:

The symptoms of psoriasis are mild to severe. The symptoms vary from patient to patient according to the severity of the patient. Some of the  most  commonly observed symptoms are:
Dry or scaly red skin
Burning, itching, soreness, or irritation in the affected area
Patients having psoriasis often complain of swollen joints or arthritis
The diagnosis of psoriasis doesn't require any special test. Dermatologists and doctors can easily examine your skin to know that you have psoriasis. However, for a more accurate diagnosis and to know the cause of psoriasis, the doctor can examine your skin under a microscope to better understand the disease.

Treatment:

If you are someone who has psoriasis and looking for a complete cure, sadly it is not curable. As it is an autoimmune disease and sometimes the cause is unknown, the best way for treatment is to prevent it with certain medications.

Biologic medications:

Biologic medications include adalimumab , brodalumab, etanercept, guselkumab (Tremfya), infliximab, ixekizumab, secukinumab (Cosentyx), tildrakizumab (Ilumya), and ustekinumab (Stelara).
Topical therapy:
Topical therapy for psoriasis includes treating the disease with topical medication like corticosteroids, Vitamin D analogs, Emollients, petroleum jelly, and mineral oil.

Light therapy:

Sometimes the patients have severe psoriasis and are not controlled by any of the medication. In this case, the patients have to go through light therapy. This light therapy is helpful in most cases and avoids the susceptibility of the patients. . In this treatment, the patient is exposed to certain radiations and it can be helpful for both mild and severe psoriasis.
Immunosuppressive drugs:
It slows down the cells of immune cells, as we see abnormal growth of skin cells on the surface. This treatment line is used according to the situation of the patient. Immunosuppressive drugs are used in psoriasis-like cyclosporine. Cyclosporine is used in adults, for severe psoriasis. While other drugs include methotrexate.  These drugs also have side effects so patients with kidney failure and compromised immune systems should avoid them.
Take your vitamin supplements:
Sometimes the patients have a severe vitamin deficiency and it is also one of the causes of psoriasis. Patients having vitamin deficiency should regularly take their supplements and should expose themselves to sunlight to gain Vitamin D.

Take care of your diet:
As the disease is incurable and autoimmune, patients should take care of their diet. Some of the patients are allergic to certain food like meat, milk, coffee, wheat, or eating fruits. If you know that you are allergic, avoid all risks, as it can aggravate your symptoms. Keep and balance  your diet with all the carbs, protein and minerals, etc.
How to prevent psoriasis?
If you have CeraVe Cleanser psoriasis and are worried about its cure, then you are not alone, as there is a 3% prevalence of psoriasis and approximately 7.5 million people are suffering from it. To improve the symptoms of psoriasis, the dermatologist recommends keeping your skin moisturized, taking daily baths, sit in sunlight as it has Vitamin D in it and can be good for you if you are having psoriasis due to vitamin deficiency. Also, avoid anything that triggers the disease. If you are diagnosed with psoriasis and at an early stage of it, then you can prevent it by following these precautions.
Avoid Alcohol. As alcohol can aggravate the condition and it can increase the production of cytokines and lymphocyte proliferation which can worsen the situation.
Avoid cold weather. Psoriasis gets worse in winter and gets better in summer. So keep yourself hydrated and warm.
Don't consume acidic drinks as they can aggravate the condition. Sometimes citrus drinks can increase the severity and some people are allergic to them which can trigger your symptoms.
Avoid stressful situations. Stress is most of the time the cause of psoriasis, and patients should avoid working in a stressful environment.
Maintain a healthy lifestyle and take your medication regularly. Avoid any food you are allergic to like red meat, eggs, or dairy products. As susceptibility to these can aggravate the symptoms.
Avoid beta blockers at all costs as they can worsen your psoriasis.
Avoid smoking because smoking almost doubles the risk of psoriasis.

Some of the patients recover from it completely by taking medicine regularly. As the cause is different and sometimes genetics is something that’s not in our control. So these patients have to suffer lifelong by managing it.
If you want to cure this completely or want it less frequently, then you have to understand your body, or you can do it with the help of your doctor. Know how the disease is triggered, whether is it triggered by stress or unhealthy lifestyle or vitamin deficiency, or infection. Once you know it, the process becomes easy. Many patients have recovered from it completely by just following the medications. Some have overcome it by taking Vitamin, and some by taking care of the body's toxins. Some have managed it by taking precautions. Consult it with your doctor, and understand your body.

Conclusion:

We all know that psoriasis is an autoimmune disease, it is curable in some cases or has seasons of occurrence. However , the best way is to manage it with medications, taking precautions, and following your dermatologists' instructions. Patients who are careless about it often have to suffer from certain diseases like diabetes, osteoporosis or kidney disease, or depression. If you have psoriasis, immediately contact your doctor and don't even try to self-medicate it as it has serious consequences.
